Nobel Prize: Heroines of Peace


The following outstanding women have achieved great heights in their pursuit to make the world a better place, making them the 16 women to have won the prestigious Nobel Peace Prize so far (1901-2014).

2014: Malala Yousafzai

Jane Addams was nominated 91 times between 1916 and 1931, when she was finally awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. By contrast Emily Green Balch received the Nobel Peace Prize the first year that she were nominated.
